Soap & Glory's Solar Powder

I've been meaning to post a full review of this product since featuring it in my favourites  last year. I'd probably go as far to say its my 'holy grail' bronzer as I've literally not bothered with another one since! I've always been a huge fan of Soap & Glory, So when they finally released a make up line I was really excited to try their products and ended up with this Solar powder bronzer along with an extremely neglected highlighter.
Being ridiculously pale I've always been sceptical of bronzing products, Although when S&G had a 2 for £15 offer on their products I couldn't say no and finally caved. Despite the fact that half of this product looks a little 'glowy', I find that this is a perfect contour on my skin and actually looks really natural on. Soap & Glory's Solar Powder bronzer comes with two sections, while one side is darker and pretty matte, the other is slightly lighter on the skin and comes with a bit of a shimmer too it, although personally I find if I swirl these together with my brush it creates the perfect contour shade.
Despite liking the overall look of the product, I initially thought the packaging was a bit of a joke physically. Being cardboard I didnt have high hopes for it remaining in a good condition for too long. Although I can reveal this baby has survived months of me throwing it around in my make up bag, airplane trips and even the gurling three hour drive back to my house from my university halls. Yet the extremely weak looking bit of cardboard connecting the top and bottom of the product remains intact making me a very happy girl! I also love the fact that this has a mirror which is awfully useful if you're on the go!
Below I've demonstrated the look of the bronzer using just the left side of the product, the right side, then both sides together. As you can see while the shimmer seems intensified when just using the right side alone it appears less obvious in the last swatch were both sides appear together.
Overall I adore this product, and will happily replace it if this ever runs out! You can pick it up for £11 here over at Boots (although its currently on 3 for 2!)

The one pound Macadamia dupe

I'm a fan of a good dupe, so when I heard that many were comparing this Macadamia Oil extract Hair Treatment (£1.00/250ml, Home Bargains) to the much hyped Macadamia hair mask (£26.95/250ml, Amazon)  I knew I had to give it a go! While I cant actually compare the two products as I don't own the original Macadamia product, I thought it would be useful to post a review of the product itself.
Because of the similar patterns displayed around the packaging and the shape of the mask, its easy to initially compare this treatment to its high end counter part. Although from what I've seen online, the consistency of this version seems a lot thinner. Following the directions given I simply applied this mask after shampooing and found that it really helped to moisturise my hair. While this certainly matches up to the products on sale at on the highstreet, leaving my hair feeling soft and manageable, I personally cant comment on how it fends against Macadamia. At just a pound this Macadamia Oil Extract Hair Mask does a great job and I can see myself buying it again!

What hair care products have you been loving lately?

Empties #1

I did do these posts monthly, although due to being all over the place during December and January, I stopped collecting and posting empties regularly. Although they really began to pile up as soon as I got back to uni, taking over every spare inch of my room, so i figured I'd get this done today so I could finally have my room back!
Over the past few months I have used up various hair care products, it seems silly to go through all of them as i just tend to pick up whats on offer so I figured I'd talk you through my favourites. As regular readers my know I'm in love with the whole Dove haircare line, and finished up a Dove nourishing spray oil which I loved although I forgot to photograph it in the above picture! I'm also a huge fan of Vo5 so would really recommend that along with Dove if you're looking for a good moisturising shampoo and conditioner. Another product I was quite a fan of was these 500ml bottles of Tresemme conditioner which were around £3 in Home bargains as they lasted me a while so were great value for money.  With the expectation of the Pantene product i pretty much got on with every product in the picture and would buy them all again!
I have two empty shower gels from Radox which i don't have much to say about although both smelt lovely and were around a pound. I also have three used up dry shampoos, i'm a big fan of Batiste although I'm currently trailing the Dove one everyone seems to be raving about.
I managed to use up a 500ml of Bioderma and already have another on the go - I think this product is incredible and one I will continue to repurchase. I also finished this melting cleansing gel from Nspa which i got in a beauty box. I really enjoyed using this one and would buy it again if I visited an Asda. Next up was the Drink up mask from Origins which was my go to morning after treat - although the high price tag means I'll be looking for a cheaper alternative! I've finally finished my bottle of Healthy Mix foundation, and considering buying another bottle as it is rare I use a whole product up! I really loved this, It looked natural on the skin yet provided good coverage. Staying on the make up theme I've managed to use up another clear mascara from MUA as clearly the one in the picture has seen better days. I love using these as a cheap alternative to eyebrow gel and find they work so well. I've also manage to use up every scrap of my Origins Night a mins cream which I loved!
Sadly I've used up my favourite body shop body butter which smells amazing along with a foot cream from Soap & Glory. Last but not least is a 30ml bottle of my favourite perfume, Lovestruck (luckily I got a 100ml bottle for Christmas!)

So there you have it, the products I've used up over the past few months. What have you been using up?
