Skincare stars!

Today I finally finished college and I'm currently looking forward to my nine week holiday! Naturally to celebrate I online shopped to my hearts content spending far too much on cosmetics (I need some new toys to play with while I'm off!) So look out for lots of new Look Beauty and MUA posts as soon as they come through the door!  My Skincare stars box finally arrived today too so I figured I'd so you guys a closer look at the contents - Since I've been going on about this box for a while now:

L'Occitane Angelica Hydration cream (£29/50ml) - This was one of the things I was most excited to see, a couple of months ago I got another 15ml sample in a magazine and love it! So I was happy to see another 15ml as this is some pricey stuff. I love the way it leaves my skin feeling and its a lovely little treat!

Kiehl's midnight recovery concentrate (£36/30ml) - I'm seventeen so I'm not particularly looking for younger skin, although I love the promises on the house of frasers website 'skin hydrated, supple and soft, rest assured you can say goodnight to a tired-looking complexion' - Yes please!

Melvita Moisturising Rose Nectar (£24/40ml) - I cant say I'm the biggest fan of the smell of rose, although I'm willing to give this a try, the packaging promises to 'Intensely moisturise the skin for a rosy complexion all day long' - I see what they did there!

Murad AHA/BHA exfoliating Cleanser (£34/200ml) - I really like the sound of this, I cant say I'm too fussed over the whole 'age reform' qualities, But I've never tried anything from Murand and I love the idea of this cleanser! Not to mention I tested it on my hand and it feels amazing!

Etat Pur Micellar Cleansing water (£7.40/190ml) - Like I needed another thing to rave about from Etat Pur! I got a 20ml sample of this product in my last order from there and have used about 10ml, I love using this when I'm feeling lazy - The idea that you can just grab a cotton pad and be done with cleansing is great!

Balance Me Moisture-Rich Face Cream (£24/50ml) - I have a feeling me and this product are going to get on greatly! I just wish the 10ml sample was a little bigger so I could really try out the product!

Personally I'm very happy with this box! Did you guys order the Skincare stars box?

Twist and out nail polish remover

Instant nail polish removers seem to be popping up everywhere since the launch of Bourjois' Magic nail polish remover and I can see why, The idea of being to take off your nail polish almost instantly with no mess or fuss is pretty much a dream for me. Which is why I was pretty excited when I saw this alternative version for just 79p in savers!

Twist and Out promises quick, compact and no fuss nail polish removal and it delivered on all of these promises removing all traces of my nail varnish. For the price it was great although I did have a few small problems with this, for example; I disliked the way the lid got in the way a bit when removing the nail polish, the sponge moved far too much sometimes to the point I was lifting it out with my finger and the plastic feels a little weak (although strong enough to survive my handbag!)

Dont get me wrong the results are great, you can see them here for yourself:

I'll be stocking up on these babies, for just 79p you really cant go wrong!

Lately MUA have been giving us lots of sneaky peaks on their blog of up and coming products and today I thought I'd do a round up for those who may have missed the posts.. whatsinmyhandbag.com

About a week ago I finally signed up to 'whatsinmyhandbag.com', The site idea is simple allowing you to easy navigate yourself around and have a peak into insiders handbags to get a look at the products they are loving, users are then offered a 'try', Selected members are then sent this product.

Much to my surprise I was selected to try the 'Jurlique Hand Cream' - I was so happy went I received the email on Friday afternoon because I never 'win' anything! Yesterday I came home to find this beautifully packaged product waiting for me (I love the personal touch with the name!)

The product itself has a luxury feel to it, If it lives up to its promises I know I'm going to love it and hopefully tell you guys about it soon.

I would recommend signing up to this site - Its free after all and by the looks of it, there are some great samples up for grabs!

17 Best of British Nail Art Kit

When I spotted this nail art kit on the 17 stand for just £5 I knew I had to have it - along with its sister product which I will do a post on soon. The limited addition kit offers perfect colours to help celebrate Britain; Knock out red, mini skirt and midnight sapphire (all the normal size of 8ml)

I absolutely adore the packaging of this, it even offers top tips and ideas keeping with the red, white and blue theme.

This kit is a total bargain, if you consider individually these polishes should cost £2.99 each and you're getting three for less than the price of two of them.

The thing I love most about this kit is the thin nail art style brush, at first I thought the brush would annoy the hell out of me when trying to paint the whole nail however I loved it, as it gave me greater control when painting the nail.

Here are some of my terrible attempts at nail art, I think the stripe one is my favourite - It was so easy to so and didn't turn out that bad!

What do you guys think of this kit?

17 Fest of all kit!

Currently boots are offering a free 'Fest of all kit' to all customers who spend over £6 on 17 cosmetics, Today I picked up a few nail kits (Post to come) and figured I'd show you this freebie I received which is housed inside a lovely box. 'Fest of all' comes complete with three items; Lasting fix nail polish in Topical Island, Instant glow body bronzer in medium matte and eye liner in Onyx

I'm pretty much in love with the nail polish, It is such a lovely colour and one I see myself wearing lots of over the summer. I'm not too fussed about the over two products if I'm totally honest - I have about a million black eyeliners I'll never use and I'm not a huge fan of the 'Bronzed' look so I'll probably pass the body bronzer along to my sister. What do you guys make of this kit?

Models Own Ibiza Mix

Since first laying eyes on this product I knew I had to have it, Glitter seems to bang on trend at the moment and 'Ibiza Mix' is no exception with its multi coloured/sized glitter particles coming together to form one amazing polish (I've gone all sciencey!) I finally picked this up with my Boots points last week and I'm so happy I did, paired with Famous' 'Black Taxi' the combination is amazing making heads turn everywhere with its sparkleyness.

This is my new favorite polish - at just £5 its such a steal! You can pick up Models Own nail polishes in Boots.

Dream fresh BB cream in light

I brought this BB cream a few months ago in part of a 3 for 2 deal in boots, and thought nothing of it. For a while now it has waited patiently in my draw ready to be rediscovered, and I'm pretty glad I did. I wont lie and say it has amazing coverage, because that's simply not true instead the product glides onto the skin giving it a healthy glow - Which if like me you like a light finish you will love!
Somehow this product has made it into my everyday make up routine - Which admittedly has always been  pretty lazy, but this balm takes no longer than 30 seconds to apply. I'm a big fan of this product, and when you consider it costs the same as a Revlon lip butter (£7.99) it makes it seem like even better value for money! Plus you only need a TINY blob for your whole face, I predict this will last me for ages!
You can pick this little gem up from Maybelline stockists - Including Boots & Superdrug - £7.99/30ml

Colortrend make over?

I was flicking through a make up guide my Avon rep gave to me when I spotted the colortrend section and honestly thought wow. Before Colortrend just didn't appeal to me, the packaging seemed dated and like something you'd give your younger sister for her tenth birthday - Now I want some! The new packaging has really brought the brand to life, I love the modern designs (Although they kinda remind me of Models Own). I'm not sure with this is available, the guide was for '2012-2013' - but one things for sure I'm dead excited for it!

Is it me or are there some new colours thrown in too?!

Jelly Bean

I picked this polish up in this months issue in Marie Claire because the colour stood out to me more than the others (And it was a bloody good deal). Like all Ciate polishes 'Jelly bean' comes in the classic pretty bottle with an added bow to complete the look.

I wouldn't say the polish lasted a great amount of time, I recall a couple of days wear at most which was pretty disappointed for something normally so overpriced - Although even at the price of Marie Claire I've tried better polishes for a quid. If only the bottle wasn't so pretty!

In the end I paired this polish with Fantasy fire (which by the way, I had tones of images of ready for a review on until my laptop killed them!) The prettiness is too much for my eyes;

Overall I think buying Marie Claire is a great idea if you want to buy some Ciate at a lower price - But personally I wont be back for more - even if I did love the colour!

KissGloss: Murray Hill Melon

I picked this up as part of a 3 for 2 deal in superdrug when buying the NYC lipsticks and was pleasantly surprised. I had simply reached for it after needing something else to compete the offer (I believe it was around £1.59) I wasn't really expecting to like this as its far from the normal natural colours I love so much.

Although when trying it for the first time I fell for the bold well pigmented colour, Its not too sticky and lasts a good while. Amazing value for the price, the only downside I would say is that you are promised a 'flavoured shine' - I cant say I experienced that.

Ultra last lip wear: Peach Fizz

I'm always on the look out for that perfect peach lip colour although I have struggled finding it with my skin tone, so when I saw NYC's offering for just £1.49 I jumped at the chance to try it.
.

Like Snowcone, peach fuzz is comfortable to wear and delivers a lovely metallicy colour which looks great on the lip.

You can pick these and other members of the Ultra last lipwear range up at superdrug for just £1.49

MUA: Heaven and Earth

I've been after this palette since it first came out - with the amazing combo of browns and nudes, this palette is perfect for me.The amazing range of colours come housed inside a classic MUA black case which seems sturdy enough to battle with the contents of my handbag

Like Glamour Days, this palette is a total steal at just £4! I was extremely pleased with the great pigmentation while testing these, especially in the bottom row!
