January Favourites

I've never posted my monthly favourites, So I figured this year I'd give them a whirl..This months have been a rather odd selection, So here after countless attempts to get a picture of them (Sigh, Why is it dark so early!?) are my favourite products this month:

Make up:

Blink + Go Long Lasting Black mascara- Why had I never heard of Blink + Go before the December Glossybox? I love this product! My lashes wouldn't look the same without it!

No7 Poppy King Lip glosses-  I got the pair of these for £6 in the sales- I love them both! Staying power is great for a lip gloss.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in fair- Yes, the concealer every beauty blogger seems to be going crazy for..I like it, I'm not like amazed by it, But it does a bloody good job for £4.19!

MUA eyeshadow (Shade 16) - For a pound a pop this stuff is amazing, I noticed when I first wake up my eyelids seem to look pretty dull..I just swipe a little of this on for a natural looking more awake look.

Skin:

Avon blackhead clearing deep treatment mask- For £2, I wasn't really expecting much. But in one use, I could really notice a difference with my skin, Which makes it an instant love this month!

Avon Solutions Complete Balance- I love this stuff! It wasn't a product that automatically amazed me, but after a couple of weeks of using it my skin feels so much softer. Plus it has a pump which makes the use of the product so much easier!

Kleenex Facial Cloths- A bit of an odd one really, I just really like using these on my skin, they feel so soft- Plus they are amazing for removing nail polish!

Body:

Hammam Delight shower gel- Another product from my glossy box which I love using, I love the whole foaming gel idea and it smells great!

Avon Extra Lasting Lipstick

I got this with a bundle of Avon goodies for Christmas from my mum [Right before my obsession with Avon became out of control] But with all of my exams this month, I completely forgot about it..

I had pointed this colour out to my Mum in the Avon book a few months ago, I don’t own many lipsticks because I find it hard to match them to my skin tone without making me look like a ghost but the shade looked perfect and subtle for my skin tone. When I received Avon Extra Lasting lipstick in pink peach on Christmas day I couldn’t wait to try it- That was of course until I opened it, and the colour seemed so dark!

In natural light, this colour looks a lot more red- But thanks to my college timetable by the time I get home it’s always dark outside! My first thought was that I’d been given the wrong colour, until I checked the bottom and saw it was definitely right..

I do like this this colour on my lips though- It’s something I would wear out, Its just a little too bold or my daily look - Avon promises ‘8 hours of lasting colour’ I haven’t actually tried it for that long yet so I can’t really comment- Although I will say  I tested the colour again on my arm over an hour ago and it refuses to budge without water!

The packaging of this product is actually pretty thin for a lipstick, compared to my Barry M one it seems tiny despite it being a fair bit taller:

Because of the packaging being so 'skinny', I worry that the casing could be more prone to breaking. Although I do think If the product is good, the packaging shouldn't bother you too much, its what's inside of it which you should focus on [Just don't go putting any weight on it- It will snap like a twig!]

Overall, I do think this is  lipstick is good value [Normally £7, but Avon are great with their deals] It  Just was not what I was expecting, So I would recommend asking an avon rep about colours before buying. The application was great and it didn't feel too drying on my lips. Although I think it's something that will have to go towards the back of my draw until I feel bold enough to wear it:

Do you own any Avon lipsticks?

My New Avon Goodies!

This is becoming somewhat of an addiction! I just look over the booklet, and cant resist the bargains!

Avon for me is very hit or miss, Most of the time I love their products, Its just the packaging and shading that lets them down massively! Despite this- I still manage to spend a ridiculous amount on it every month..

I've never tried anything from the Clearskin range, So when I saw they were half price- I had to buy! Considering how much I waste on skin care, my skin isn't actually that bad but it never kills to be prepared for the worse case scenario- Backhead Cleaning deep treatment mask- £3.50 £1.75, Blemish Clearing Peel off mask- £4.00 £2.00

I was about to run out of my beloved 17 Nail Xtra Strengthening Base Coat, So ordered this until I can be bothered to make the run to Boots..Plus it was half price so I figured why not- Base Coat - £5.00 £2.50

I was about to run out of Cleanser, So figured I would give this a try.. It looks promising- Plus it has a pump, which automatically makes it a winner- It's a little let down by the packaging though. I haven't tried it yet- But I'm not a fan of the smell- Solutions Complete Balance oil free foaming cleanser- £5 £3

These are just my first impressions of all of the products, Hopefully I'll review them all soon!

Warm Pro Mini Eyeshadow Palette

I thought I'd share a few images of this little bargain, I picked it up for just £3.75 on ELF's Website- and I'm so glad I did, Here's why..

Such a great mix of warm colours, I was very impressed by the second row- Such a lovely mix of browns.
I was really surprised by the pigmentation of the shadows- after swatching the first row I wasn't really expecting much- But it really improved thoughout the palette..Overall I love this palette, I cant say I see myself using all of the colours, although there are a good few I cant wait to use!

My first ELF order!

I've wanted some Goodies from ELF for a while now, So when I saw great sale deals and the free shipping offer last weekend- I had to buy! I ordered Saturday evening, and was shocked to see arrive so fastly on Tuesday morning- After reading such bad reviews, I expected my order to take at least a week;

I've been sitting exams all week, so I haven't had much time to try all of them, but I ordered:
-Smoky Brown Nail Polish
-Mechanical Eyelash Curler
-Warm Pro Mini Eyeshadow Palette
-Studio Stipple Brush
-Daily Brush Cleaner

The eyeshadow palette was the first thing to catch my eye, It looks fantastic- Especially considering I paid just £3.75 for it! I cant wait to try it out and post about it! Overall I'm extremely pleased with the service provided by ELF!

My GlossyBox experience.

For months I had watched other countless GlossyBox posts made by other bloggers.  I really like the idea of beauty boxes- I think they give everyone a great chance to try out different products. So when I saw the contents of the December  GlossyBox, I knew I had to have it! I hinted at My Mum for a couple of days about the box (I even found her a £5 discount code!) Until to my delight she asked me to help her order myself one on the 19th of December (Which was the last day for ordering, Phew!)
The box was delivered on the 23rd, which I thought was pretty quick with it being so near to Christmas – Although Royal mail had battered the box a fair bit! I wasn’t allowed to open the box until Christmas day. It was the first thing I headed to when I woke up- Which was at 5am thanks to my nine year old sister!
I was really happy with the contents of my Glossy box:

I won’t go into much detail about the products, which I’m sure you’ve heard way to much about from other bloggers. Although one product did really annoy me:

I understand that GlossyBox are catering for a huge audience and cannot make everyone happy, But I sat and filled in questions about my skin, which I assumed would come into consideration. There was even a question which asked my age!
Despite this, overall  I was actually really happy with the box...It was possibly my best present because it was a bit of a surprise, And I loved all of the other products!

My personal favourites had to be; The blink + Go Mascara,  The Hammam Delight shower gel, and of course the glitter polish!  I will probably do independent reviews for them soon, because I like them that much!  So much so that the mascara and shower gel have found themselves in my daily routine!
I didn’t want to make this post until I had cancelled the glossy box account, I haven’t seen much information about cancelling a glossy box account, The website just said ‘you may cancel at any time by emailing contact@glossybox.co.uk with your account details. You may also re-subscribe at a later date. There is no minimum subscription term. ‘ I wasn’t sure what my account details were, So I just filled in my name and Email and told them that I would like to cancel my GlossyBox subscription. I did this on the 28th of December and received a response on the 3rd of January telling me that my subscription had been cancelled.
Personally, If I had the money every month I would definitely love to stay subscribed to them!  I love the idea of a box of surprises coming in the post every month!
Do you guys subscribe to any beauty boxes?
