My current top five lip products

Hi Guys, I hope you're all well! Although I had posts up all week, they were scheduled I haven't had the chance to write a post in nearly a week now because of my exams (only two more go!) It's lovely to be blogging again today. I also hit 200 GFC followers and 30,000 page views last night which was amazing - Thank you to each and every one of you who have taken the time to read, follow and comment on this blog! I try so so many lip products every month, and although I've found many that I love, very few manage to make it into my make up routine. I've noticed lately that there are five products that I find myself reaching for above the others - mainly consisting of nudes!
From left - right; Rimmel lasting finish in shade 101, Revlon lipgloss in orchid, Revlon just bitten balm stain in honey, Revlon lipgloss in peony, Look Beauty in Petal nude

Rimmel Lasting finish by Kate in shade 101

This has to me my favourite lipstick in my make up collection - It pretty much lives in my bag since it seems to go perfectly with every make up look! As always I have linked my full review above so I'd recommend checking that out if you want to here more about this - Its worth every penny!

Revlon Lipglosses

I some how ended up with two of these, one was a gift from a friend and the other sent to me by Revlon after I won a Christmas giveaway of theirs. I personally think these are the best lipglosses on the highstreet, while Orchid offers an amazingly pigmented purpley pink shade, Peony is a lovely 'everyday' subtle pink shimmer which I love. I find them both to be non sticky and non drying!

Revlon balm stain in honey

I've been loving this and hope to have a full review up soon, I love how it glides onto the lips so effortlessly and leaves a non drying stain! The colour is so me too!

Look Beauty Loud Lips in Petal Nude

Again I have linked a full review above it's just a perfect nude but a little bit more shade! Half price at the moment too!

Which lip products do you find yourself reaching for?

Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick in 101

I wasn't going to buy this lipstick.. I swear! I have a whole draw full of unloved lipsticks, which doesn't need anymore. Although when I saw this for around £3.98 in Savers I had to have it! Luckily This was the last one in the shade 101 which I have been lusting the most over - I think I still need 113 in my life.
This is my first lipstick from Rimmel and I have been left very impressed! The first thing I noticed when I opened this was the lovely sweet smell it gives off unlike the many unscented boring ones which remain in the draw. I'm a nudey kind of girl and I think this is perfect who want to try something a little brighter without it being too much.
I am so In love with this colour and I am so so happy I picked it up! It feels comfortable on the lips and wears for a good amount of time too. Since buying I've worn it pretty much everyday, and received a bunch of compliments from my friends who seem to love this shade too!
I am so impressed by this lipstick and cant wait to try more from the Kate Moss range, I'm not sure if you can still pick it up cheaper in Savers but you can still find in Boots and Superdrug stores for £5.49 - Its worth every penny!

MUA lipstick in shade 3

I've had my eye on MUA's lipstick in shade 3 for a while now, So when I popped in my local superdrug over the weekend I had to pick it up! Like all other shades in the range shade 3 is housed in a simple black plastic case which looks as if it could take a beating or two in my handbag.

Shade 3 transfers to the lips as a lovely highly pigmented pinky raspberry shade, which I think will look great against most skin tones. Like all MUA lipsticks I found it to be both long lasting and moisturising on the lips.
You can pick this up for just a £1 in selected superdrug stores or online from MUA

MUA Lipstick in Bare

I am determined to someday own every MUA product available, one lipstick at a time! I've said time and time again that 'Bare' was a shade I really wanted to try from MUA, Although most of the time its sold out in all my local superdrugs so It was the first thing that went in my basket when ordering online.

I think 'Bare' is my favourite shade from the MUA line so far, Its a lovely natural nude colour which is perfect for everyday wear. Like all the MUA lipsticks I've tried I found that 'Bare' is mositurising on the lips and lasts a good while  before you need to top the colour up. At just £1 this is a total steal.
You can pick 'Bare' up from selected Superdrug stores and over at MUA's website

Plump pout lipstick: In the pink

Anyone that's been reading this blog a while will know, I own way too many Avon products! There's something about the deals in the little brochure that pulls me in time and time again to the point of no return, I had a little money left over from my birthday - So naturally I ordered £30 worth of stuff.
The lipstick normally priced at £7.50 was on offer for just £4 of I figured I'd give 'In the pink a go' Avon say  'Dual plumping lipstick formulated with retinol and collagen for a gorgeously full pout that looks plumped and feels moisturised'

Personally I quite like this lipstick, It doesn't feel too drying on the lips and the colour lasted a good while. I cant say I noticed any plumping qualities - but I didn't purchase for those anyway. You can pick the plump out pout collection here at Avon currently £7.50 each or two for £8!

Revlon Lipstick in 'Smoked peach'

After having Ebay for just over a week, Its safe to say that I'm well and truly addicted! I first heard about these cheap Revlon lipsticks on The Sunday Girl's blog a while back, although it wasn't until I finally made myself an Ebay account I got my hands on this lovely shade. These matte lipsticks retail here in boots for £7.49, although If you have an Ebay account I highly recommend this seller where you can pick up this beauty for £3.50 with postage! I wanted more shades but sadly a few were out of stock.

The shade sits happily in a sturdy black case which looks as if it could take a knock or two. While lipstick itself is great and something I would happily pay £7.49 for - I found it to be long lasting and comfortable to wear, not to mention the lovely colour! This product exceeded my expectations coping well with all food and drink thrown at it, I'll be buying more!

MUA Lipstick in 'Nectar'

As I've mentioned before, after weeks of searching I was finally lucky enough to pick up MUA's Juicy and Nectar in my local superdrug! I love the fact that MUA has started to name their lipsticks, I feel like it gives them more of a personalty than just a shade number!

I've been looking for an orangey lipstick shade for a while now, but most of them just make me look like I've freshly finished a bowl of pasta - not attractive! However Nectar has an almost softer feel to it giving me just the right level of orange. (Swatches natural lighting then with flash)

As I've mentioned while talking about juicy, I was pleasantly surprised by just how moisturising these are. I'm becoming a big fan of MUA amazing products, and that's without considering the low Price point! I'll be going back for more!

MUA Lipstick in 'Juicy'

I don't own many MUA products; In fact this lipstick is one of the three MUA products I do own.
I find it quite hard to source - I feel like their stands are pretty much abandoned in most Superdrug stores, not being restocked for days- Despite the quality of the make up being much greater than some of the more expensive brands on the high street.

After reading so much about 'Juicy', 'Nectar' and 'Bare'. I began searching for them every time I popped into a superdrug. Of course every time I looked there was no place for them, or simply none left in the stand. It wasn't until one of my sisters was pestering me for a red lipstick that I finally stumbled across 'Juicy' and 'Nectar' in the smallest superdrug store I have ever visited!

'Juicy' really lived up to the hype surrounding it - It's an fantastic colour at such a low price point!  I was really shocked by just how moisturising it is, honestly I found it had more moisture than the now famous Revlon lip butters! And did I mention the great staying power?! Possibly the best pound I have ever spent - I'm Definitely going back for more shades!

The Natural Collection Lip Colour

In the past, I've used the natural collection's pressed powders and cover up sticks - And I have to say I have been left very impressed. For a budget brand, I have to say they set the standard pretty high.
Which was why I was so excited when I saw the Sheer Natural Lip Colours in my local boots. If I'm honest I didn't even know they sold lipsticks as they're not for sale on the website - Which is a shame really.

With the big three for two event I picked up two lip colour's and a nail colour for just £3.98! Although these retail alone for a mere £1.99 and are well worth every penny in my opinion. I picked up sorbet and  Lotus (Post to come) and I'm extremely glad I did. Sorbet is a 'Sheer nude lipstick for a beautifully natural look'. It's not the most pigmented and long lasting lip colour in the nor does it claim to be. These are great if like me you're forever topping up your lips out of habit, I personally love the natural look it delivers and will be buying more.

Avon Extra Lasting Lipstick

I got this with a bundle of Avon goodies for Christmas from my mum [Right before my obsession with Avon became out of control] But with all of my exams this month, I completely forgot about it..

I had pointed this colour out to my Mum in the Avon book a few months ago, I don’t own many lipsticks because I find it hard to match them to my skin tone without making me look like a ghost but the shade looked perfect and subtle for my skin tone. When I received Avon Extra Lasting lipstick in pink peach on Christmas day I couldn’t wait to try it- That was of course until I opened it, and the colour seemed so dark!

In natural light, this colour looks a lot more red- But thanks to my college timetable by the time I get home it’s always dark outside! My first thought was that I’d been given the wrong colour, until I checked the bottom and saw it was definitely right..

I do like this this colour on my lips though- It’s something I would wear out, Its just a little too bold or my daily look - Avon promises ‘8 hours of lasting colour’ I haven’t actually tried it for that long yet so I can’t really comment- Although I will say  I tested the colour again on my arm over an hour ago and it refuses to budge without water!

The packaging of this product is actually pretty thin for a lipstick, compared to my Barry M one it seems tiny despite it being a fair bit taller:

Because of the packaging being so 'skinny', I worry that the casing could be more prone to breaking. Although I do think If the product is good, the packaging shouldn't bother you too much, its what's inside of it which you should focus on [Just don't go putting any weight on it- It will snap like a twig!]

Overall, I do think this is  lipstick is good value [Normally £7, but Avon are great with their deals] It  Just was not what I was expecting, So I would recommend asking an avon rep about colours before buying. The application was great and it didn't feel too drying on my lips. Although I think it's something that will have to go towards the back of my draw until I feel bold enough to wear it:

Do you own any Avon lipsticks?
